Successful Trial Verdict in Favor of Doctor in Wrongful Death Medical Malpractice Case

December 2017

The firm participated in a two (2) week jury trial assisting with the defense of a wrongful death suit for medical malpractice brought against an emergency room physician. The case involved the tragic death of a young man from an aortic dissection. The plaintiff’s theory was that the dissection began three (3) weeks before his death when the decedent was seen in the emergency room. The medical evidence presented for the physician established that the standard of care was met, and that the aortic dissection was a sudden event happening on the date the decedent passed away. After a two (2) week trial, the jury found for the physician represented by the firm, as well as another physician who also had been sued.
